Walk-in! Our centre operates using a queue-based system, so all you have to do is drop-off your device at a time convenient for you. Mac Repairs

How long will it take?

We aim to have your Mac back to you as quickly as possible, however, this does not mean that we rush your repair. Before anything, we thoroughly diagnose your device, then we order the necessary parts and carefully install them once they arrive, we then test and QA your machine, after which we promptly call you to collect the computer at your convenience. Typical turn around time is 3-5 business days.

How much will it cost?

Warranty Repairs: If your Mac is covered by Apple's limited warranty, Applecare, or is within its consumer law coverage period, then hardware repairs will incur zero cost. Typically we'll just proceed with the repair and contact you once it's ready for collection. It's important to be aware of what is and isn't covered: software issues, physical, liquid and accidental damage, biohazards and modifications are not covered. We also strongly recommend that your machine is backed-up before drop-off.

Non-Warranty Repairs: All out of warranty machines are booked in with an $80 diagnosis fee, this fee will be deducted from the final repair cost if proceeding with the repair. For liquid damage, we take a $99 diagnosis fee. If you decide that you do not wish to immediately proceed with the repair, please be aware that the diagnosis fee is valid for 3 months - after this time the device must be re-diagnosed.

Can you recover my data?

We are often asked if we are able to recover data, and generally, the answer is yes! Successful recovery is dependent on a number of factors, so we'll to assess your machine or hard drive in-house. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees of success. If we're unable to recover your data, we'll refer you to someone who can.

Generally, we require approx 1-3 days for recovery, though it can take longer. Unfortunately, it is impossible to anticipate until we have begun to recover the data. We will always quote you before we begin; the cost is reliant on the amount of data on the drive, and the difficulty of recovering your data. We cap data recovery up to 3TB at 2hrs labour.

iPhone Repairs

Do you service iPhones?

iPhones are not always repaired on premises - Idealstore would like to stress that your phone will not be repaired while you at the store; an appointment does not stipulate immediate repair. iPhone service is split into Carry-in and Mail-in, once your iPhone had been diagnosed by a technician, we can determine the type of service required. Carry-in repairs are performed on-site, however Mail-in repairs are sent to an Apple repair facility, where they are repaired, replaced or diagnosed. If diagnosed, we will be in contact as soon as Apple have quoted the repair or replacement of your iPhone. You may accept or decline the service, however, please be aware that once approved you are obligated to the repair.

How long will it take?

Carry-In: The technician will require 24-48hrs to diagnose an iPhone, after the technician has assessed your device, parts are ordered and the phone is repaired, this process generally takes 3-5 business days after diagnosis.

Mail-In: Once we've sent off your phone, the service time is really out of our hands. We find that, on average, iPhone service, including battery replacements, take around 2 weeks. Service times can vary from 1-3 weeks.

How much will it cost?

If your device is covered by Apple's limited warranty, Applecare or is within its consumer law coverage period then the replacement will incur no cost. Otherwise, the cost is dependent on the make of the phone and its issue.

iPad, iPod & Apple Watch Repairs

Do you service iPhones?

Apple offers two types of service for these devices: Whole-unit and battery replacements. In both cases, you'll receive a replacement model, so it's really important that you back up your device before dropping it off.

How much will it cost?

If your device is covered by Apple's limited warranty, Applecare or is within its consumer law coverage period then the replacement will incur no cost. Otherwise, the cost is dependent on the device and issue: typically batteries are serviced for a reduced cost. We'll let you know before proceeding with any repair.

Can I upgrade my device?

Unfortunately, your device must be replaced with the exact same model. This is why we tell our customers to choose wisely when making a purchase!
